Each hut at Bhakti Kutir tells its own story.

Shaped by hand from local materials, our rooms are naturally cooled by the shade of the forest canopy and do not require air conditioning.

The huts are a return to a simpler, more conscious way of living. In each one, you will find a thoughtful space to rest, listen to the sounds of nature, and feel a little removed from the world.

Each bed is equipped with a mosquito net. You can lounge in a hammock on the spacious outside seating area and feel the peaceful jungle vibes that so many of our guests love.

FAQs

Here are some of the most common questions guests ask about our huts and cabanas, with straightforward answers so you know what to expect.

  • We have 12 stand-alone eco huts and 5 double-story cabanas (with one room upstairs and one on the ground level).

For those who prefer a more social setting, there are also shared dorm-style cabins.

  • No, the huts and cabanas are not air-conditioned. The natural construction of our eco huts, with coconut thatch and open ventilation, is designed to keep the spaces cool and breezy without the need for AC.

Each room is equipped with ceiling fans for comfort.

  • Most of our private huts and cabanas come with their own attached bathrooms. In some cases, the bathroom is designed in an open style just a couple of steps from the cabin. For the upper rooms in our double-story cabanas, the restroom is located on the ground floor.

Hot water is available in most rooms, and for others we provide hot water on request with traditional hot buckets.

  • Most huts are designed for two people, with options for single or double beds. A few larger huts can host small families.

  • Standard check-in is after 3 pm, and check-out is by 11 am.

  • Yes, we offer reliable Wi-Fi with two different network providers and power backup for our routers. The signal is strongest around the reception area and common spaces.

If you need the fastest and most stable connection during your stay, let us know, we’ll be happy to suggest a hut closer to the routers.

  • Bhakti Kutir is a 5 minute walk through the village to both Palolem and Patnem beaches.

  • Yes, many guests stay for several weeks or even months, especially during the retreat season

  • Yes, all stand-alone huts are private. Sound carries in nature, so we recommend bringing earplugs if you’re a light sleeper.

  • Mosquitoes are part of life in the tropics, and while they can’t be completely avoided, we take several steps to keep them under control.

We burn frankincense (dhoop) each morning and again at sunset (when mosquitoes are most active). The smoke helps keep them away.

Every room has a diffuser with lemongrass oil, and our team can also bring smoke to individual huts if needed.

All beds, including those in the dorms, are equipped with handwoven mosquito nets for a comfortable night’s sleep.

Our cabanas are built using bamboo, straw, and reclaimed wood
